ABOUT THAT FIGHT TONIGHT
De La Hoya vs. Mayweather 2007: The World Awaited what was a super welterweight super fight which took place on May 5, 2007, ( Yes, Derby Day ) at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada between six-division world champion Oscar De La Hoya (38-4, 30 KO) and undefeated four-division champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (37-0, 24 KO). At the time, the bout was the most lucrative boxing match in history, with over $142 million in generated revenue, Oscar De La Hoya ( The Golen Boy ) beat the living life out of another human being that night but Floyd Mayweather somehow, someway ended up winning that 2007 boxing event in the minds and possibly blind judges (still scratching my head), at that time of our Derby history which was the 133rd running of the Kentucky Derby. The announced attendance was 156,635, the third largest in Derby history (Mayweather - Hoya) took much more in Cash, and had higher attendance by far. Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom, was a special guest of ours at Churchill Downs and attended the race in her first visit to the United States since 1991. The Queen has stated that it was one of her dreams to attend the Kentucky Derby and watch America's Golden Boy of boxing in the USA on the same day. Street Sense, was sent off as the 9-2 favorite on his home track and paid $11.80 as the highest-priced winning favorite in Derby history. Smarty Jones paid $10.20 to win in 2004, and the Golden Boy was tougher than nails and was somehow robbed of his Golden Crown, winning at least 7 rounds Clean by the Queen. In this year of 2015, the old speedy man Mayweather, with his left hand down, will take on the man of All Tough Men (Manny PacQuiao) and unfortunately Mr. Mayweather still thinks he's got the fastest Money Making hands of the game, We saw the Golden Boy kick your butt, how many years ago..?, Manny made the Golden Boy a bloody mess, when they fought one heck of a fight , you could not drain a drop of Golden blood, I try to respect you for what your all about, the Money (Its the All Important), well the man you are fighting tonight is fighting for pride, PRIDE of being the best and giving his best each and every fight, you are in for the Beating of your Life, he's not about Money, and you will be on the canvas more than once for the first time of your grand green career, Pride and Country kicks ass on MONEY, I may be wrong, but he's got the gloves on to put you where you should be, second best, not money wise.. Pride Wise. run run, run, can you even fight? or just run, run run to the bank..? Not in this fight, my friend to be the best of the best, Pound for Pound, ever to walk in boxing YOU MUST FIGHT, right you don't know what Fight Is, you know run, run, run at least try and give some fight when you stand still, like you know how to actually fight like a man, the gig is up speedy, you can and will not stay standing in front of a Fighter/Boxer and the world will see who the WORLD CHAMP Pound for Pound of Boxing in 2015 and it's not you,Good Luck trying to Run, not tonight.
